1. Part demand

Millimetres throughout. Matching material, profile and size form a separate stock group.

2. Available stock / purchase allowance

Available quantities limit stock allocation, including purchase rows. The planner compares stock choices to serve demand and minimize purchase length.

3. Cutting allowances

Usable bar = stock − start trim − end trim. Each piece consumes finish + extra allowance + one kerf, including the last piece. Remaining tail is measured after these deductions.

Edit demand and stock, then generate a plan. Inputs stay in this browser.
Planning method and cutting allowances

The planner groups compatible material, profile and size, expands demand into individual pieces, reserves bar cleanup and compares candidate layouts. It produces a purchasing summary, grouped operator recipes and printable bar visuals.

Required cut length is finish plus extra stock. Every piece reserves one saw kerf, including the final piece, and each bar reserves both end trims. Tails are classified for future reuse. Straight-cut lengths are modeled; mitre geometry, clamping and machine setup need separate allowance checks.
